As part of the cooperation between the Association of Kosovo Municipalities (AKM) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora (MFAD), the next meeting of the Collegium for the Diaspora was held to address issues related to the diaspora in the municipalities of the Republic of Kosovo. This activity is part of the agreement to establish a communication channel with MFAD in involving municipalities in programs and activities with the diaspora.

In this meeting, Deputy Minister Gashi presented the activities of MFAD with the Diaspora during 2023, emphasizing the importance of linking municipalities and the diaspora for the development of Kosovo. She also expressed that this Collegium will be an important forum to address issues related to the implementation of diaspora policies at the local level.
During the discussions, possibilities were discussed for linking the central-level platform, “Enjoy Kosovo,” with the local level, as well as cooperation on the joint calendar of activities during the summer. As part of this program, there was also information about public calls for project proposals related to the involvement of young people from the diaspora.
This call aims to strengthen the connection of young people from the diaspora with the country and the young people of Kosovo, as well as to cultivate their national, linguistic, cultural, and educational identity. Non-governmental organizations should base their program policies on MFAD, in line with the objectives set out in the annual plan of public financial support for non-governmental organizations in 2023.
