The Executive Director of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities (AKM), Mr. Sazan Ibrahimi, met with Mr. Mathieu Mori, Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, in Strasbourg, France.
During the meeting, Mr. Ibrahimi briefed Mr. Mori on the functioning of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities, its role and activities, as well as the functioning of municipalities in Kosovo.
He also expressed his gratitude for the continuous support that the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe has provided to the Association of Kosovo Municipalities and the municipalities of Kosovo, particularly in facilitating the exchange of experiences and European best practices related to local governance and the implementation of the European Charter of Local Self-Government.
For his part, Mr. Mori reaffirmed the Congress’s readiness to continue and further strengthen its cooperation with the Association of Kosovo Municipalities in promoting and advancing local governance in Kosovo.
Cooperation with the Congress remains of particular importance for strengthening local democracy, advancing local self-government, and enhancing the institutional capacities of municipalities in Kosovo.
