The Association of Kosovo Municipalities organized its regular meeting with its partners in the “Friends of AKM” meeting in Prishtina, aiming to collaborate and coordinate activities with partners involved in local government activities and projects in Kosovo.
In this meeting, attended by representatives of partner organizations and supporters of AKM, Mr. Sazan Ibrahimi, Executive Director of AKM, delivered the opening remarks, introducing the attendees briefly to the nature and purpose of the meeting, the Association’s participation in Working Groups based on the Legislative Agenda of the Government, and emphasized the special role and importance of collaboration with partners engaged in local government projects in different areas, particularly highlighting joint involvement and coordination during lobbying for the interests of local authorities.
Mr. Gani Berisha, Program Manager at AKM, presented the achievements of the Association of Municipalities in 2022 through its work and engagement in various fields, aiming to strengthen and further intensify its involvement in representing and protecting the interests of municipalities and empowering the new structures of AKM. Mr. Berisha also presented the work plan of the Association for 2023 and cooperation with partners.
On the other hand, Ms. Lindita Ymeri, the Manager of the Training Center, presented the achievements in the field of capacity building for municipalities and the plans for the year 2023 of the Training Center of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities.
From the majority of participants, representatives of partner organizations of AKM also presented their activities in various areas where there could be cooperation and coordination of common activities with municipalities in achieving clear objectives they have during their mandate.
Representatives of SDC, SIDA, USAID, GIZ, CoE, DEMOS, OSCE, OFAP, AQH, Swiss Contact, EU/GFA, NALAS, and others took part in the meeting “Friends of the Association of Municipalities.”
