Today, the project “Promotion of Local Democracy”, implemented by the Congress of the Council of Europe, submitted the publications of the project to the Training Centre of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities (AKM).
The project focused on strengthening the capacity of the AKM to train the newly elected Mayors and Councilor’s of Municipal Assemblies. For AKM, a Training Module on Open Local Government, Public Ethics and Integrity was developed, accompanied by a Training Guide, based on needs assessment and pilot trainings on these topics provided to local officials as part of the project.
The project team also submitted to the AKM, for use and training, the Guide on Open Government and Public Ethics, the Guide to Preventing and Combating Sexism in Local Policies, and the Congressional Public Ethics Series, which were adapted and translated in Albanian and Serbian.
The handover ceremony was attended by Tankut Soykan, Deputy Head of the Council of Europe office in Pristina, Gëzim Plakolli, Senior Project Officer and Sazan Ibrahimi, Executive Director of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities.
