With the support of the AQH project, the next meeting of the Collegium for Health and Social Welfare of the Association of Kosovo Municipalities was held, with the participation of representatives from the Ministry of Health, municipal directors, and representatives of the Main Family Medicine Centers (MFMCs).
The main priority of the meeting was the discussion of the campaign for the selection of a family doctor, which aims to improve the identification and management of patients with specific needs.
The Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Arsim Berisha, emphasized that this project aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services by enabling continuous and individualized follow-up by family doctors, thereby helping citizens more effectively.
Another important agenda item was the presentation of the AQH project plan for 2025 by the Project Manager, Mr. Nicu Fota.
The plan includes the expansion of successful projects to more than half of the municipalities in Kosovo, as well as the establishment of a new mechanism to provide continuous support to municipalities in implementing projects in the field of healthcare.
This mechanism is expected to serve as an “On-Demand” platform that will help harmonize healthcare service standards at the national level.
Additionally, Rrezarta Jashari, a social inclusion expert, presented the objectives of the project “Regional Cooperation for Social Inclusion,” which aims to develop unified policies for social inclusion at the municipal level. This project includes the analysis of strategic documents and the development of a standard format for social inclusion documents.
This format is currently in the implementation phase in the municipalities of Istog and Pristina, aiming to improve the overall approach to social inclusion and the integration of marginalized groups.
In conclusion, Blerim Shabani presented the training program designed to strengthen the capacities of municipal social workers.
This program includes advanced methods for case management and improving inter-institutional communication, aiming to enhance local capacities and improve social services for citizens.
The program also foresees the application of innovative practices to improve responses to citizens’ needs.
