The Association of Kosovo Municipalities has expanded the cooperation with and GIZ/ORF (Regional Funds for South Eastern Europe) by signing the Agreement under the project “Towards improving transport and mobility in Kosovo municipalities”. This one year project foresees to develop sustainable urban mobility plans for municipalities.
In addition, Kosovo is determined to meet European standards on its path to EU accession, thus central and local governments are working intensively on finding functional and sustainable solutions for urban transport and mobility.
Furthermore, through this project, the Association of Kosovo Municipalities aims to provide municipalities with sustainable urban mobility plans, taking also into consideration the benefits that local government will gain by implementing them.
The project aims to support municipalities to improve security, provide citizens with services and transport options that enable access to major destinations, reduce air and noise pollution and energy consumption, improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness of passenger and goods transport and increases the attractiveness and quality of urban planning, environment and urban design for citizens’ benefits.
Within the project, “European Mobility Week 2019” will be organized and the whole project will be covered by 55,000 Euros for one year period.
